Rare Wolfgang Quilt Top Guitar - EVH Eddie Van Halen

As the result of his countless years of personal and associated endeavours, constantly driven by the need to create the ultimate guitar to fulfil his ultimate requirements, Edward (Eddie) Van Halen along with the Peavey Corporation unveiled the original Wolfgang. The rest is history.

In late 1996 as the result of rigorous R & D by arguably the most demanding player on the planet, Peavey's dedicated production facility in Leakesville, Mississippi began its production of this truly modern classic.

Peavey's Wolfgang Quilt was released during the first year and production figures were very limited. General up-dated consensus places the total production at approx 1000 pieces for the world market. It's true to say the consistency of the quilted maple employed during early production raised something of an issue. It has been suggested that EVH was unhappy with the lack of figuring to many examples, which lead to Peaveys decision to retrospectively shift their production to flamed maple.

From Van Halen 3 through to the 2004 summer tour, EVH favored his 1st Year Wolfgang Sunburst Quilt, until it tragically suffered fatal injuries at his own hands in an unusual emotional outburst on Van Halen's North American Tour.

Having spent an eternity searching, we finally located the guitar selected by the man himself. A totally original 1997 Peavey Wolfgang Quilt Top in Sunburst.  Our guitar is one of approximately only 250 Sunburst Quilts ever produced. Taking into account the many casualties during the past 15 years, our 1st Year Quilt forms part of a very exclusive club indeed  !
